About

Hello!

Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Lisa Gould and I live in Devon in the UK with my husband and aged rescue cat. All Glass and Gem Workshop items that you see on my website are designed and handcrafted in my home workshop.

Lisa Gould

I have been making jewellery, mosaics, stained glass and fused glass for a number of years as a hobby and to give as unique gifts for family and friends. In September 2007, the Glass and Gem Workshop was established. In my day job I work at the University of Exeter as an IT Governance Support Officer, but devote my spare time to making lovely items of jewellery and glass pieces for the home.

A variety of different materials are used in my jewellery designs, many of which are also handmade. These include sterling silver, Balinese and Thai Karen silver, genuine Austrian Swarovski lead crystals and crystal pearls, lampwork and fused glass art beads and gemstones.

Different types of glass are the main materials used in mosaic, stained glass and fused glass items for the home and garden. There is a fantastic array of colours, textures and patterns of glass now available to work with, which can make the choice of materials for a project often quite difficult! One of my favourite activities is unpacking a new delivery of glass, seeing how it captures the light and picturing what it will look like in a finished piece.

I hope you enjoy browsing my web site, and take as much pleasure from owning my creations as I did making them.

Lisa
